Breakfast Rice

I make this just like my mom. It's especially good in the winter.

1 c rice
2 c cold water
1 t salt
1 T butter or margarine

Combine in a heavy 3 quart saucepan. Turn heat to high. When it begins to boil reduce heat to medium low. Stir once with a fork. Cover tightly and simmer 12 - 14 minutes. When done, add:

1 stick butter
1/2 c sugar
1/2 c milk

Cook down. Keep adding 1/2 c milk and cooking until rice is as wanted. You can add the sugar later and have less problems with sticking. Serve with cinnamon sugar and milk.
